How it Works

ETwater
  1. You enter your landscape profile online using the ETwater Manager secure web interface.
  2. ETwater Weather Updates collects data from a weather station in your community, constantly measuring climate details, rainfall and other critical data required to maintain an accurate watering schedule.
  3. Our Central Computer combines real-time weather information for your area with your stored landscape profile to develop a customized watering schedule for each station at your site. Sophisticated algorithms work in the background to tailor your watering schedule to the exact needs of each station of irrigated landscape.
  4. ETwater communicates daily with your on-site ETwater smart controller to adjust watering schedules based on the current weather conditions.
  5. The ETwater smart controller ensures that each station of the landscape is watered according to the current landscape profile.

ETwater Manager

The ETwater Manager is an easy-to-use, intuitive Web-based interface for all activity related to your use of the ETwater system, including:

  • Entering the landscape profile for each station of a site, or, in the case of commercial customers, multiple sites
  • Reviewing your automatically generated, weather-based watering schedule for each station
  • Managing changes to the landscape site, including adding and removing stations or adjusting plant types and flow rates based on type of irrigation emitter device at the site
  • Performing maintenance and monitoring tasks, such as applying watering suspensions and restrictions or adjusting your water window
  • Receiving and reviewing alert messages regarding system operation or watering interruptions

ETwater Smart Controller

The ETwater smart controller receives, stores and implements the daily station-specific irrigation schedules established after you configure your landscape site with the ETwater Manager. Its innovative features include complete telecommunications capabilities for accessing the Internet to receive updated watering schedules and software-activated stations. As your landscape expands, you simply add on stations using ETwater Manager, eliminating the need to buy additional hardware modules.

The ETwater smart controller can easily replace conventional controllers and has been designed for easy upgrade and retrofit of existing systems. It is the same size as conventional irrigation controllers, comes in a no–rust aluminum enclosure, and can be operated manually at any time, if desired.

ETwater Weather Updates

ETwater Weather Updates provide the daily weather data to update your landscape watering schedule. Developed in partnership with one of the nation's leading weather information gathering organizations, ETwater Weather Updates are received from a network of more than 7,500 local weather stations, providing users with highly localized weather conditions. Weather stations are frequently located on school sites and government buildings.

Each user receives Weather Updates as part of a subscription to the ETwater Service. The first year's subscription is included in product price. Weather information is assigned to you based on the proximity of the nearest weather station. With such a large number of available stations, customers can rely on receiving the most localized weather available. Backup stations are programmed into your account in the event there is a problem with your primary weather station.

ETwater Central Computer

ETwater maintains a central computer that integrates customer site-specific data from the ETwater Manager with real-time data from ETwater Weather Updates. ETwater Smart Controllers and the central computer use two–way communications, allowing your smart controller to send important status information and ETwater to provide needed watering schedule updates. The ETwater Central Computer is located in a secure facility with redundant back-up systems to assure reliability.
